The
Feast Day known as Pentecost in the New Testament was first known as the Feast of Weeks, or Feast of Firstfruits in the Old
Testament. We can read about this Holy Day of Yahweh in Leviticus 23 as it is
given to Israel, along with the other memorials, which are appointments (#4150-feasts) made by Yahweh, and we Israelites are
to keep these appointments forever throughout our generations as Yahweh said in verse 14.
It begins in verse 10 that when the children of Israel had gone into the land, that they would be able to harvest the
grains that were already growing there, but before they could eat any of this new grain, they had to take of the firstfruits
to the priest for him to wave a sheaf (small portion) of it before Yahweh. But this was only at a certain time during the year.
The word Pentecost is a Greek word, Strong’s #4005 meaning fiftieth. Looking at Leviticus 23 verses 15 and 16 you will see how we are told to count to Pentecost. “And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought
the sheaf of the wave offering, seven Sabbaths shall be complete. Even unto the
morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days…”
Notice,
that Leviticus 23:10 does not say the “promised land”, just “land”.
I had always thought that they would have to wander around for 40 years before Yahweh would let them enter into the
“promised land”, and then they could keep this feast, but this is not true.
There is evidence in the book of Numbers that as Israel traveled in the wilderness, they had the victory over many
cities and dwelt in the cities of the Canaanites and the Amorites. Read Numbers 21:3, 25, 31, 35, to mention a few. So my point being is that there was enough grain growing in the fields of the heathen peoples, to make
sacrifice unto Yahweh. It was possible for the children of Israel to keep this
feast during the 40 years of wandering, as they dwelt in the land of their enemies, before crossing the Jordan. Here’s a thought. Did they eat ONLY manna?
This article is not intended to convince others that there
is a Pentecost, or even when it is to be held. The facts are in Acts 2, that
there was this event called Pentecost, and that the apostles were keeping it.
The
purpose of this writing is to have a word study into the events that happened to the approximately 120 men and women in the
building on that 1st day of the week, Sunday morning. By doing so,
there will be a different picture unfold. This word study will not read like
a regular article, but is a complex study to obtain knowledge and understanding of the hidden symbolism of Scripure. Whether you choose to go in depth in your studying as I do, or in other ways,
the key is to LOVE what you study.
What
really happened on that fiftieth day? We’ve been given ideas by the translators
of the Bible, who were hired by King James, of little flames of fire sitting on the disciples, and a wind of some sort blowing,
as they sat in their meeting place. This was supposed to somehow visualize the
giving of the Holy Spirit. Did that really happen that way or could there be
another translation? From Acts chapter 2:15, most of us would agree that the
third hour of the day is 9:00 A.M on that Sunday morning. You will need to have
your Strong’s Concordance at hand, and I use the King James Version of the Bible, not because it is the best, but because
it is keyed with the concordance.
Acts
2:1-4: “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all
with one accord in one place, (2) and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing
mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, (3) and there appeared
unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them, (4) and
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
The
underlined words are those we will examine with the Strong’s to obtain a different translation, and will be the subject
of each section with the dots.
Why
are there so many different translations of the Bible? It is because each person
thought that other words were more appropriate to use than the ones that the standard King James translators used. I have to agree, but this brings up the question of why did Yahweh allow inappropriate words to be selected,
giving way for misunderstanding. Yashua gave the reason for speaking in parables
to his disciples in Matthew 13:10-17. To paraphrase, we can see (read) and hear
(others reading to us from scripture), but we cannot understand. Are we still
being spoken to in parables today through his WORD? Yes. Therefore, we must “Study (labor Heb. 4:11) to show ourselves approved unto Yahweh, a workman
that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (#3718 dissecting correctly) the WORD of truth”. II Timothy 2:15.
As
you read through this study in Acts 2 you will begin to see that there is another translation still using the same Greek words. It is simply this, that the house was full of men and women who were of one mind and
in one place, and each of the speakers spoke loudly, so that all could hear, of the Good News of the kingdom being preached
with power, might and righteous judgment upon receiving the Holy Spirit. Someone
may say that I am trying to explain away a miracle done by Yahweh. No, I am only
wanting to find out the truth of the matter, and I do this by looking up all of the words used in the text, and then seeing
where else they are used, to shed some light on a passage of scripture. In short,
I let the Bible interpret the Bible. The whole Bible is written in parables. Yashua spoke in parables to the multitudes, yet in secret, He revealed the meaning
to His disciples. See Mat. 13:1-17. This
was before the Spirit was given. This is the key—having the Holy Spirit! Thus it is with many people, even scholars, who read the Bible today. They do not understand the true meaning. They want to look
at the literal, the physical.
Revelation
20:12 speaks of “another book” being opened. Another
is #243 and means “different”. We know that there is no other Bible
besides the one Christianity uses and we are told not to add to or take away from it in chapter 22:18-19. With studies like this one, we are able to arrive at a DIFFERENT version of the Bible; one that is taught
by the Spirit in secret. Yahshua is LIFE and His Words are life, so to have life
we must understand the DIFFERENT BOOK that is opened, and from it we learn how to LIVE.
It
is said that there are “types” and “anti-types” in the Bible.
Well, perhaps this is true and what is written out in Acts did happen that way.
So let us then look at the anti-type as it applies to us today. We know
that people of our day do receive the Holy Spirit, but no one ever reports of having seen flames or hearing wind blowing. SO HOW DO WE KNOW THAT A PERSON HAS THE SPIRIT?
In
Acts 1:4 we read that the apostles had been commanded to wait for a promise from the Father.
Yahshua was associating the baptism of the Holy Spirit with receiving a promise, which was to happen 10 days later. The word “promise” is #1860 and has one other meaning and that is message. They very easily could have used the word “message”. Let’s see if it fits.
Yahshua
told them to wait for a message from the Father, “WHICH YOU HAVE HEARD OF ME. (v.4)” So upon receiving the Holy Spirit, they were to get some sort of a message.
What was this message? Looking for the word “message” in Strongs
#1860 we find that it is only used one place. In I John 1:5 we are told: “This
then is the message WHICH WE HAVE HEARD OF HIM, and declare unto you, that God is LIGHT, and in him is no darkness
at all….” John continues on page after page telling us the MESSAGE about Yahshua that they (those who had
ears to hear) had received from the Father, through the Holy Spirit.
On
the day of Pentecost, they were speaking out loud and clear to all in hearing distance, about what they had LEARNED. Up until this time, they could not understand.
All they had was “head” knowledge. Having received the Holy
Spirit, they were lead to understand. Please read Ezekiel 11:19, 20 and II Cor. 6:16.
Now they had “heart” knowledge. John 14:26 confirms this.
“But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto
you.” Luke tells us in Acts 2:11 that this message is “the
wonderful works of Yahweh.” Without the Comforter, Yahshua, no one
could understand Yah’s Word. Now read Acts 3:19-22.
Also
Acts 2:33: “Therefore [we] being by the right hand of Yahweh exalted (#5313 lifted up), and having
received of the Father the promise (message given by the indwelling Spirit) of the Holy Spirit, he (#846 they,
these) has shed forth this, (the message) which you now see and hear.”
James 4:10, “Humble yourselves in the sight of Yahweh, and he shall lift you up (exalt).” It is now our job to give this Holy Spirit message without leaving out one iota
(jot or tittle) of what Yahshua had told to the disciples and apostles, so it is vitally important that we get the correct
meaning of the translations, or we could be deceiving others.
Now
we know what it was that the multitude heard Peter and the others saying in languages that they could understand. In addition, read I Corinthians 14:27-33, and learn that they were not all talking at once. I am sure that the Apostles abided by this rule, and Yahweh is not the author of confusion as stated in
I Cor. 14:33.
Before
we get started, I’d like to explain a little as to how we will be studying. After
looking up the words in Strong’s and finding the numbers he has associated with it, we then learn the meaning. Most of the time, after the colon and hyphen (:-), there are additional words that
the translators could have used in a particular verse. We will also notice, that
occasionally, one Greek word will be a combination of 2 or more Greek words thus giving us additional English words, which
are located in close proximity of each other in the Bible verses. It is important
to look up the other words after the hyphen, and find out where they are used. By
doing so, we can get the spiritual interpretation. We are to walk in the Spirit,
not in the flesh. Instead of looking at the literal translation, you will see
a hidden one; one that is of a spiritual nature.
I am reminded of I Cor. 3:12-13, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of Yah;
that we might know the things that are freely given to us of Yah, (13) Which things also we speak, not in the words
which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL.”
The
Strong’s definitions sometimes have abbreviations for literal and figurative, i.e. “lit. and fig.” Haven’t you ever wondered why Mr. Strong thought this way? We will not be examining the scriptures literally, but from a figurative point of view. This is an arduous task to undertake, but you will find it a rewarding one.
The verses in this study covers Acts 2:1-4. Please, please, take time
to look up the verses that are not quoted. It may also be necessary to study
it through again for it all to become apparent.
Acts 2,
Verse 1
“And
when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place."
#3674; homou, as an adv.; at the same place or time:-together. [John 4:36; 20:4; 21:2]
#2372, thumos, from 2380; passion (as if breathing hard):-fierceness (Rev. 16:19, 19:15), indignation [Rom. 2:8], wrath [Luke
4:28; Rev. 16:1].
#2380, thuo, a prim. verb; prop. To rush (breathe hard, blow, smoke [used in verse 19 but is #2586]), i.e. (by impl.) to sacrifice
(prop. By fire, but gen); by extens. To immolate (slaughter for any purpose):-kill [Acts 10:13], (do) sacrifice(d) [I Cor.
5:7], slay [Acts 11:7].
Please
notice the words “to rush” in the meaning of the Greek word “thuo” (#2380) above and you will
see in verse 2 the word “rushing”, referring to the mighty wind.
Winds “blow”, which is also one of the meanings.
The words “IN ONE PLACE” have no numbers in the Strong’s, but they did not need any, because they are taken
from #3674 above. They translated some of the word “homothumadon”
into the word accord and part of it into “in one place”. They
had additional help from another word that I will be showing you later. That
word is “it”.
Verse 2
Acts 2 verse 2, “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven
as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled
all the house where they were sitting.”
- “And suddenly, there came a sound…” The word sound is #2279, echos, a loud or confused noise (“echo”), i.e. roar; fig. a
rumor:-fame, sound.
The
word “fame” is only used one time and is found in Luke 4:36,37. “And
they were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying, What a WORD is this! For
with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out. And
the fame (#2279) echos) of him went out into every place of the country round about.”
The
Greek work “echos” #2279 is used one other place and that is in Hebrews 12:19.
“And the sound of a trumpet, the voice of WORDS; which voice they that heard entreated that the WORD should
not be spoken to them any more.”
These
two words, fame and sound, have to do with words that are spoken from the mouth. In
Isaiah 58:1, we get the symbolism of a voice sounding as a trumpet.
- “from heaven” #3772 ouranos; perh. From the same as #3735
(through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extens. Heaven (as the abode of Yah); by impl. happiness, power, eternity; spec.
the GOSPEL (Christianity):-air, heaven ( [ly] ), sky.
#3735,
from an obsol. (to rise or “rear”; perh. Akin to #142; comp. #3733); a mountain (as lifting itself above the plain):-hill,
mount (-ain).
#142,
a prim. Verb; to lift; by impl. To take up or away; fig. to raise (the voice), keep in suspense (the mind); spec. to sail
away (i.e. weigh anchor); by Heb. [comp. #5375] to expiate sin:-away with, bear (up), carry, lift up, loose, make to doubt,
put away, remove, take (away, up) [Luke 11:52].
As
you see, the word “heaven” could also be “sky” or “skies”.
In the Hebrew, the word “skies” is #7834, shachaq. We can
find this word in Isaiah 45:8, “Drop down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness;
let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together…”
Clouds
are in the heavens and drop down rain. Job’s words were as rain in Job 29:21-23,
“Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. (22)
After my words they spoke not again; and my speech dropped upon them. (23)
And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.” In verse 24 we see that Job had the countenance of light. Job
said in chapter 37:21 that bright light is in the clouds. The saints are Yahweh’s
clouds and their words are rain from heaven.
Although
this article is not about HEAVEN, the HEAVENLIES, SKIES, CLOUDS or MOUNTAINS, I need to say that it can be proven, that these
are terms used for the positions held by both Yahweh’s true ministers that are preaching with power TODAY, his disciples
who obey the Commandments, and also by the wicked people who are still in Babylon, teaching lies directly from the pulpits
across America. These wicked ones do away with Yahweh’s Laws, and obey
not the Gospel. See Jer. 51:53, Amos 9:2 among other places. See also Ps. 72:3, Isaiah 44:23, 49:13; Jer. 3:23, Eze. 6:2, 3; 35:8-12; Micah 4:1.
-
“As of a rushing” #5342 phero, a prim. Verb (for which other and appar. not cognate
ones are used in certain tenses only; namely, “enegko”, to “bear” or carry (in a very wide application,
lit. and fig., as follows):-be, bear [Heb. 13:13], bring (forth) [John 12:24; 15:5], carry [John 21:18], come, + let her drive,
be driven, endure, go on, lay, lead, move, reach [John 20:27], rushing, uphold.
Below are a few of the scriptures that
use this word “phero”, and are underlined in bold.
Mark
4:8: “And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought
forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some a hundred.” In
verse 11, we see that this is one of the mysteries of the kingdom of Yahweh. A
mystery that is given to us to understand. See Matthew 13:11.
Hebrews 12:20: “(For they could not endure that which was commanded,
And if so much as a beast touched the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart…)
Hebrews 1:3: “Who being the brightness of glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the WORD of his power…”
II Peter 1:21: “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of Yahweh spoke as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
Strong’s #1308 diaphero, is a word taken from #5342 and is used in Acts 13:49: “And the WORD of Yahweh
was published throughout all the region.”
Hebrews 13:13, “Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp [of the Saints Rev. 20:9], bearing
his reproach.”
I
do hope that you can see the symbolism in this word “rushing”. These
scriptures were written for the saints of old, and more importantly, for us today. We
are to endure sound doctrine, uphold Yahweh’s WORD, as we are moved by the Spirit. Publishing or speaking the Word is the easy part. Getting
others to listen is the hard part. Those “OTHERS” to whom we are
to proclaim the Good News to are those outside the camp, sinners outside the walls of our city, “For without are
dogs, and sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie” (Rev. 22:15), calling
them to repentance.
We
are also in a sense “rushing” to win the race of life. I Cor. 10:24-27
speaks of a race. The world runs this race to obtain something corruptible, but
we are in a battle in our race; a fight to the finish to triumph over evil, to obtain a crown of righteousness.
#970 bia, prob. Akin to 979 (through the idea of vital
activity); force:--violence.
#979 bios, a prim. Work; life, i.e. (lit.) the present state of existence; by impl. The means of livelihood:-good, life, living.
The
following scriptures are applicable to these words: Acts 5:26; 21:35; 24:7; 27:41,
but the most important one is in Matt. 11:12 which says: “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffers violence (#971 to crowd oneself into. See Luke 16:16),
and the violent (#973 a force; energetic) take it by force (#726 to seize).“ Did you catch that? The Kingdom was in existence then! “Indeed, the saints of the Most High TAKE (receive) the kingdom, and
possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.” We fulfill Daniel
7:18.
Acts 17:25: “…seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things…”
#4154 pneo; a prim. Word; to breathe hard, i.e. breeze:-blow.
Luke 12:55: “And when the south winds blow you say, There will be heat (#2742); and it comes to pass…”
#2742 from 2741; a glare:-(burning) heat.
#2741 from 2740; to set on fire:-with fervent heat. See II Peter 3:10,12.
#2740 from 2545; burning (the act):-be burned. See Hebrews 6:8.
#2545 a prim. Verb; to set on fire, i.e. kindle or (by impl.) consume:-burn, light [Matt.
5:15].
Luke 24:32, “And they said one to another, did not our heart burn
within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the Scriptures?”
John
3:8: “The WIND (pneuma #4151 SPIRIT) blows where it lists, and you hear the SOUND thereof, but can not tell from
where it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is born (#1080 procreated, regenerated) of the Spirit (pneuma #4151
WIND).” The word “SOUND” is #5456 “phone” prob.
Akin to #5316 through the idea of disclosure; a time (articulate, bestial or artificial); by impl. An address (for any purpose),
saying or language:-noise, sound, voice.
Again,
we learn of 2 more synonyms, which are #5456 “phone” and #2279 “echos”. They both mean sound, voice and noise. They are both used
in Acts 2. In Acts 2:14 the word voice (sound) is someone speaking. In Acts 2:2 the word sound (voice) is the Apostles speaking from a “heavenly” position. This place is also referred to in Ephesians 1:3, 2:6 as seats given to us together
with Yahshua.
-
“it filled…”In Act 2:2
we are lead, by the translators, to believe that there was a sound of a mighty wind and IT filled all the house, but let us
look at the word “IT” at Strong’s #846.
#846 “autos”, from the particle au [perh. Akin to the base of 109 [[to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire; “air”]]
through the idea of a baffling wind] (backward); the reflex, pron. self, used (alone
or in the comp. 1438) of the third pers., and (with the prop. pers. pron.) of the other persons:-her, it(self), one, the other,
(mine) own, said, ([self-], the) same, ([him-, my-, thy-]) selves, she, that, their (-s), them ([selves]), there [at, -by,
-in, -into, -of, -on, -with], they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which Comp. #848.
By
using the Thayer’s Greek-English Lexicon we can find the more extensive meaning of this Greek word, to understand why the word “it” was used. AUTOS “signifies nothing more than “again”, applied to what has either
been previously mentioned, or when the whole discourse is looked at, must necessarily be supplied.” Going to section number III definition in Thayer’s, we read “with the article, the same,
1. Without a noun: immutable, Heb. 1:12; 13:8; Matt. 5:46; Luke 6:33; to profess the same opinion.
One
of the key verses where the word AUTOS is used is in I Cor. 1:10: “now I beseech you brethren, by the name of our
Lord Yahshua the Messiah, that you all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you; but you be perfectly
joined together in the same mind [#3563 understanding], in the same judgment [#1106 mind, purpose, will].”
We
have a confirmation of this from verse 1 of Acts 2, where they were all of one accord or unanimous. You will soon learn that the scriptures keep repeating themselves over and over again, using Greek synonyms
in the same verse, but different English words are used which mean the very same thing.
“Autos”
also means “to the same place, in the same place” as in Matt. 22:34; I Cor. 11:20 and other places.
One
verse in particular is in Acts 1:15 “And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said (the
number of names together were about a hundred and twenty,)”. In
Acts 1:4 we read “And, being assembled together (#4911) with them, commanded them that they should
not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father,…”
While this is a different word used, it is still telling us the very same thing, i.e. that they were in one place,
with one mind, waiting for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Verse 6 is yet another
example of “come together; (#4905).
As
I stated earlier, the words IN ONE PLACE in verse 1 were not Strong’s numbered, so how did the translators know to supply
them in the text? Simple, they used the word AUTOS someplace else in the text
and knew what it meant. They translated these words from the word “it”
and “accord” in verse 1.
So
the thing that filled the house was the unanimous preaching of the good news of the gospel of the kingdom with loud voices,
having boldness, and righteous judgment, causing thousands to repent. Later,
I will talk of this word “autos” which also means “they.”
-
“it filled” #4137, pleroo; from 4134; to make replete, i.e. (lit.) to cram (a net),
level up (a hollow), or (fig.) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or
task), verify (or coincide with a prediction), etc:-accomplish [Luke 9:31], x after, (be complete [Col. 2:10] end, expire,
fill (up), fulfill [Luke 21:22], (be, make) full(come), fully preach, perfect, supply.
Notice that the words “full come” are in the definition for the word “filled. We also see “fully come” in Acts 2:1 as #4845, sumpleroo or “fill
up”, from #4137 which is also used in verse 2 and means comfort together as in Romans 1:12.
In Ephesians 3 we can be comforted together starting in verse 16. “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might
(#1411 dunamis, strength, violence, power) by his Spirit in the inner man. (17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts
by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth,
and length, and depth, and height; (19) to know the love of Christ, which passes (exceeds) knowledge, that you
might be filled with all the fullness of Yahweh. Unto him be glory forever.”
-
“the house where they were sitting.” #3624 oikos; of uncert. Affin.; a dwelling (more or less extensive, lit. or fig.); by impl. A family (more or less
related, lit. or fig.):-home [I Cor. 11:34; 14:35], house (-hold) [Acts 16:15], temple [Luke 11:51].
In Acts 2:46 we learn that the Apostles continued daily with one accord in the TEMPLE. It is quite possible that on the day of Pentecost they were actually at the Temple
instead of a house as the translators used, especially if there were 120 people.
Verse 3
Acts 2 verse 3, “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like
as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”
-
“And there appeared unto them…” #3700 optomai, to gaze (i.e. with wide-open eyes, as at something remarkable…:-
appear(ed) [Acts 26:15-18], look [John 19:37], see [I John 3:2], show self [Acts 7:26].
Hebrews 9:27-28, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die (baptism is a form
of death), but after this the judgment. So Christ was once offered to bear
the sins of many; and unto them that look for (expect fully) him shall he appear (#3700) the second time
(#1208, afterwards) without sin unto salvation.” The apostles were
definitely LOOKING for Him. On the day of Pentecost, Yahshua came to them THE
SECOND TIME, only this time, He was in the form of the Holy Spirit, to guide them into ALL truth.
-
“…cloven tongues…” #1266 diamerizo,
from 1223 and 3307; to partition thoroughly (lit. in distribution, fig. in dissension):-cloven, divide [Luke 22:17], part
(ed) [Acts 2:45].
#1223 dia, a prim. Prep. Denoting the channel of an act; through:--after,
always among…
#3307 merizo,
to part, i.e. (lit.) to apportion, bestow, share, or (fig.) to disunite, differ:--deal, be difference between [I Cor. 7:34],
distribute [I Cor. 7:17], divide, give part [Heb. 7:2].
THESE ALL ARE IN REFERENCE TO A DISTRIBUTION.
The disciples were Galileans (v. 7), yet they spoke the different foreign languages
of those who came to keep the Feast. This is definite proof that tongue speaking
must be an understandable known language, and not some gibberish of the speaker as in some churches.
- “like as of fire…” #4443 pura, from 4442; a fire (concr.):--fire.
- #4442 pur, a prim. word;
“fire” (lit. or fig., spec. lightning):--fiery [Heb. 10:27], fire [Rev. 11:5].
Fire symbolizes burning power for purging and motivation of the Saints, and is not necessarily literal.
Hebrews
10:27, “…But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.”
Rev. 11:5, is speaking of the two witnesses.
“And if any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies…”
James
3:6, “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole
body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire (to enflame with passion) of everlasting punishment.”
Jer.
23:29 “Is not my WORD like as a fire?
Says Yahweh; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”
Just
speaking words of TRUTH to others who think they already have truth, will cause offense to them. What they hold as truths
are only lies taught to them by false ministers. Many will become defensive of their beliefs to the point of bringing railing
(#987-988 evil speaking) accusations against you. It is as if they are enflamed
(set on fire) with a passion to prove you wrong. But the truth prevails. It is in this way that the word “fire” in Revelation 11:5 is to put to
silence all enemies of Yahweh.
By
applying the “type and antitype” we can see that the tongues “like as of fire” are symbolic
of our tongues of fire in our mouths as we speak the WORDS of Yahweh as His ambassadors to the kingdom.
Yahshua
quoted scriptures to the Pharisees and Sadducees in Matthew 22. The Pharisees
wanted to entangle him in his talk in verse 15. After he got through with them,
they had nothing more to say and left in verse 22. Then the Sadducees came who
did not believe in a resurrection. They too were silenced as verse 34 tells us. We as converted Israel have the WORD of Yahweh in our mouths and it is written
on our hearts. From the abundance of the heart, the mouth does speak
(Luke 6:45).
- “it sat upon each of them.”
#2523, kathizo; another (act.) form for 2516; to seat down, i.e. set (fig. appoint); intrans, to sit (down); fig. to
settle (hover, dwell):--continue [Acts 18:11], set, sit (down), tarry [Luke 24:49].
There
are about 45 different scriptures where #2523, kathizo is translated as “sat, set, sit, and sitting. The majority of them are referring to Yahshua himself and what he is doing, has done, or will grant us
to do. We find reference to someone of the highest authority sitting on a JUDGMENT
SEAT such as the one Pilot sat on in John 19:13. Also Festus in Acts 25:17.
Mark
16:19, “So then after Yahshua had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand
of Yahweh.” This is also in Hebrews 1:3; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2; Ephesians
1:20. He left in the clouds and He returns in the clouds. We are those clouds!
In
Rev. 3:20-21 Yahshua tells us, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will SUP (dine) with him and he with me.
To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne even as I also overcame, and am set down
with my Father in his throne.”
Luke
22:28-30, “you are they which have continued with me in my temptations, and I appoint unto you
a kingdom, as my Father has appointed unto me, that you may EAT AND DRINK at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.“
Acts
10:39-41, “And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the
land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree; Him Yahweh raised up the third day, and showed him
openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God even to us, who did EAT AND DRINK with him after he
rose from the dead.”
In
I Cor. 6:4, the wise are to sit in judgment in the church. These are SEATS of
Power and authority to judge righteously. These same seats are thrones given
to the saints to sit upon in judgment in Revelation 20:4. Both of these verses
are talking about the same thing and are being fulfilled today by the righteous Saints.
I
am sick and tired of people telling me that we are not supposed to judge. I say
“YES WE ARE”. John 7:24 tells us, “Judge
not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
The
word “autos” is also used in Rev. 20:4 the same as it was in Acts 2:2 for the word “it.” Only here, the translators chose the word they. “And
I saw thrones, and “they (#846) sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them; and the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Yahshua, for the WORD of Yahweh…and they lived and reigned with Yahshua for thousands
of years.” This word “thousand” as used in the Authorized
KJV can also be plural, as I have stated. It is #5505 and #5507, and is used
in Rev. 5:10 as plural. Just a side not, the word “beheaded” dies
not mean that they had their heads cut off, but I do not have space here to elaborate.
Check it out for yourself.
To
deny that Yahweh’s government has already been given to us is to deny the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. To deny this is to deny Yahshua. To deny means to REFUSE (#720). Paul writes to us from II Tim. 3:5 about people who have a form of godliness,
but deny the POWER; from such turn away (avoid). Peter calls them false
prophets or teachers in II Peter 2. He says to us in verse 10 that they are walking
in the flesh and DESPISE GOVERNMENT, and they are not afraid to speak evil blasphemies against Yahweh’s anointed Holy
Spirit filled servants.
Further,
in Jude, we are taught how to recognize these wicked ones who REFUSE or DENY Yahshua as the Redeemer, by their lusts of the
flesh.
Paul
in Ephesians 2:5-6 clarifies to us that we who are no longer fulfilling the desires of the flesh/mind, “Even when
we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;) and has raised (past tense)
us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Yahshua.”
In
the Hebrew a SEAT (#4818) is a chariot. Turn in your Bibles to Isaiah
66:15, For behold, Yahweh will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger (the rapid
breathing in passion) with fury, and his rebuke with flames (#3851 a sharply polished blade-glittering) of fire. For by fire and by his sword (His WORD) will Yahweh plead (pronounce sentence,
rule) with all flesh and the slain of Yahweh will be many.”
The
word “Power” is Strong’s #1411, dunamis, from 1410; force (lit. or fig.);..:--ability, abundance, meaning,
might (ily, -y, deed), (worker of) miracles, power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.
Notice
that the words “mighty” and “violence” are included in the meaning.
There is a synonym for these words in the Greek and we saw it in Acts 2 verse 2 using “biaios” for the
MIGHTY wind. Please go back and see Strong’s #972 and 970, bia, meaning
force (violence).
If
Yahshua is standing at the door and knocking, and we hear his voice and open up to him NOW, then we can dine, we can eat and
drink at his table in his kingdom that exists NOW. Rev. 3:20 tells
us that. To heed the call to repentance is the actual “hearing of His voice.” Then we open the door of our hearts to let him in at Baptism and the receiving of
the Holy Spirit. If we have to wait for an indefinite period of time for a “second
coming” then no one is hearing his voice and opening the door today. Churchianity
believes that they cannot dine with him until he comes into his kingdom sometime in the future. I contend that He has already come and is indwelling us as the Holy Spirit.
On
the day of Pentecost, Peter addressed the people in Acts 3:19, “Repent you therefore, and be converted, that your
sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yahshua; he shall send Yahshua the Messiah,
which before was preached to you. (21) Whom the heaven must receive until the times (seasons) of restitution
of all things…” WHAT THINGS?
In verse 22 Moses told us that Yahweh spoke by the mouth of all the holy prophets from the beginning that he would
send a prophet, referring to the Messiah, “him shall you hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.”
Go back and red John 14:26.
Luke
18:17, “Verily, I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of Yahweh as a
little child shall in no wise enter therein.” Having child-like
faith allows you to receive the kingdom.
In
Luke 17:20, the Pharisees, who were always asking for signs, demanding of him to tell them when the kingdom of Yahweh should
come. He said in verse 21, “The kingdom of Yahweh
comes not with observation…for behold, the kingdom of Yahweh is WITHIN YOU.” The word “within” is #1737, a prol. form of 1746; to invest (with a garment):-clothe in [Rev.
19:8, 14], wear. We are not found naked.
The
receiving of the Holy Spirit after the death and burial of the old flesh man (at Baptism) is the setting up or establishing
of our judgment seats in order for us to judge righteous judgment (John 7:24; Isaiah 11:3).
But before we can ascend fully up those steps to sit on that seat, we must grow from a child into a fully-grown adult,
having the mind of Christ. This is through diligent study of his Word and obedience
to Yahweh’s Holy and Just Laws of life.
This
is pictured in Acts 2 as the Holy Spirit appointing each of His chosen ones to dwell in.
We are all His Temple made without hands (I Cor. 6:10). During His ministry,
Yahshua taught the Apostles and Disciples about himself and expounded the Old Testament prophetic scriptures, plus they had
been taught by their fleshly teachers such as Paul was by Gamaliel in Acts 22:3. They
were ready for the positions that the Holy Spirit was giving them as judges of the 12 tribes of Israel. And they began doing so on that momentous day.
Yahshua
said to the chief Priests and elders in Matthew 21:43, “therefore I say to you that the KINGDOM
OF YAHWEH shall be taken from you and shall be given to a nation producing its fruit.” How can he take something away from the priests if it was not already in existence? I say the Kingdom of Yahweh was in existence then as it is now, and it is given to
whosoever has the fruits. They were symbolically clothed with it and if he removes
it from them, they then are found naked!! Rev. 16:15.
In
Luke 22:29 Yahshua tells his 12 Apostles before his death, “And I appoint to you, even
as my Father has appointed to me, a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and you will sit on thrones
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” This is a continuation
of a past event. If we are clothed with the correct wedding garment at his table,
we will not be cast out as the man was in Matthew 22:11-14.
Yes,
there were 15 or so known languages spoken by those dwelling at Jerusalem, but who were they really? They were the dispersed of Israel who have gathered there to keep the Feast of Pentecost. Verse 22 and 36 lets us know who Peter and some others were actually addressing, i.e. ALL the house of
Israel, not just Jews of the house of Judah.
- “it sat upon each of them.”
I’ve always believed until now, that a little flame of fire was somewhere on each of the people. Perhaps on the head, shoulder, or the lap. The word upon
is Strong’s #1909, epi, a prim prep. prop. meaning superimposition (of time, place, order, etc), as a relation of distribution,
i.e. over, upon, at, on:--on, etc…
There’s that word “distribution” again as in the word “cloven” #1266 diamerizo. It was given to EACH of them, i.e. the ability to speak and understand what they were saying.
The
definition for “superimposition” in the Webster’s Dictionary says “it is to place or lay over or above
something.” A good example of this would be to placing two transparent
pages together with various words missing on each, to see what the complete message is.
Without both pages, the message would be of no value.
We
are of no value without Christ! We cannot enter the Kingdom. However, we being in Him and He in us, we are made complete. Col.
2:10, 12, “And you are complete (#4137) in him, which is the head of all principality and power…(12)
buried with him in baptism, …risen (awakened together) with him through faith…”
#4137, pleroo, from 4134, to make replete, …level up, …finish (a period or task), etc.:--accomplish…end,…fulfill,…fully
preach, perfect…
#4134, pleres, covered over; complete:-full.
We
can truly SUP with him at his table at Passover, eating his flesh and drinking his blood WORTHILY, clothed with our white
robes of righteousness.
II
Cor. 5:2, 4, “…we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon (#1902, from #1909 and #1746, have
put on) with our house which is from heaven, if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked…that mortality
might be swallowed up of life.”
Rom.
13:12, 14, “…let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on (#1746) the armor
of light, …put you on the Lord Yahshua the Messiah, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.”
By
putting on the Lord Yahshua we are clothed. We are superimposed with HIM. We are one WITH HIM. Again, let us be
reminded of Luke 17:20-21, “the kingdom of Yahweh is within you.”
#1746
means (in the sense of sinking into a garment); to invest with clothing (lit. or fig.):-aray, clothe (with), endue, have (put)
on.
In
John 14:5-21 Yahshua tells Thomas, Philip and others that if they have seen him, they have seen the Father also. The same is said for us. If you have the Holy Spirit, the
COMFORTER, you are complete in HIM, therefore I see Yahshua in you. He IS
that Spirit. The works you do, they are Yahshua’s works. When you speak
words they are to be Yahshua’s words, not the language of this world. See
I John 3:2, “we shall see him as he is.”
Starting
in verse 12, “Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall
he do also; and greater than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (13) And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the
Son (#5207 children). (14) If you shall ask
any thing in my name, I will do it. (15) If
you love me, keep my commandments. (16) And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (3875 advocate), that he may abide
with you forever, (17) the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees
him not, neither knows him; but you know him, for he dwells with you and shall be in you.
(18) I will not leave you comfortless, I WILL COME TO YOU. (19) Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more, but you see me;
because I live, you shall live also. (20) At
that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I IN YOU. (21) He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me, and he that loves me shall
be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will MANIFEST (#1718, appear) MYSELF TO
HIM.”
“My
little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And If any man sin, we have an advocate (#3875, Comforter)
with the Father, Yahshua the Messiah the righteous.” (I John 2:1)
Galatians
2:20, “I am crucified with Yashua; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Yahshua who lives in me, and the life which
I now live in the flesh I live (walking in the Spirit) by the faith of the Son of Yahweh, who loved me, and gave himself
for me.” Righteousness is not of the law (Gal. 2:21), but of faith.
Galatians
3:27, “For as many of you as have been baptized INTO Yahshua have put on Yahshua.” When we repent and are baptized (fully wet) our sins are washed away.
We are baptized into Yahshua’s name, or into the family of Yahweh. We
have become His sons and daughters, and heirs of the promise. (4:6), “And
because you are sons, Yahweh sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father.”
Yes,
while we live in this fleshly body, we are living in the Spirit, because we have been clothed upon from on high. We have actually put on Yahshua and he lives in us.
Ten
days before Yahshua was taken up in the clouds after his death and resurrection, he told the disciples in Acts 1:5, “…you
shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” They asked
him if he would be reconstituting or restoring the kingdom to Israel. In verse
8 Yahshua tells them “…YOU shall receive power (#1411, ABILITY TO RESTORE AGAIN) after
the Holy Spirit is come…”
Again
in John 14, Yahshua makes it clear that HE is the Holy Spirit. In verse 6 he
said “…I am the truth…”
Verse 17, 18, “…the Spirit of truth…(also 15:26) to
dwell with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless, I will
come to you.” Verse 20, “At that
day (the receiving of the Holy Spirit) you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in
me, and I IN YOU.” Verse 21, He that
has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will
love him, and (I) will manifest myself (APPEAR) to him.” He says that he will not appear to the world, only to those who keep the Commandments with LOVE in their
hearts. To these he gives the power to reestablish His Kingdom. Throughout each age, His Saints receive much persecution for their way of life, their speech and activities
to put down wicked man’s (Satan’s) authority, especially in the Church.
We must believe that we can have membership in a family established as this Holy, Spiritual, New Jerusalem as sons
and daughters, in our lifetime. (Read II Cor. 4:10-12)
In I John 4, John writes to remind the Churches that they are fellow-partakers of eternal
life with the Father and the Son. He also writes to “little children”. These are infant, Christian converts who have not as yet received the Holy Spirit,
urging them to not believe lies so that they can receive the Holy Spirit, and the ability to manifest (render apparent) Yashua
in their own fleshly bodies, and not be ashamed at His presence (KJV renders it coming).
The Church fathers, who are skilled in the Word, will quickly render apparent (make manifest) those anti-christs who
do not bring forth Yahshua, but bring forth unrighteousness. The Apostles began
doing this right away on the Day of Pentecost, as Acts 2:37 indicates.
There
are 2 ways of understanding I John Chapter 4, in looking at the word “flesh”.
One way is to say that we know and accept that Yahshua actually was born as a baby, grew up, was killed on the stake,
and rose again from the dead. All Christians say this. Here is another way to look at these verses.
In
I John 4:2, the word “flesh” is #4561 and means carnally minded. You
cannot say that Yahshua was carnally minded. However, according to Acts 2:30
He was raised up according to the flesh, to sit on His throne. We also know that
he was tempted with all things as we are, so let’s look at this Chapter more.
The word “God” is #2316, theos, and can also be translated as “godly”. We are called “gods” in John 10:34 by Yahshua himself, so I John 4:2 could be rendered as “hereby
know you the spirits of the godly. Every spirit that confesses that Yahshua the Messiah
IS COME in the flesh (into their carnally minded “temples”, not just that he was born) is of theos.” Don’t be an antichrist by saying Christ does not live in you, and that he is
someplace else and you are waiting for him to come back. The Kingdom of Yahweh
does not come with observation. As we have seen on the past pages, it is here,
we just don’t see it. Read Luke 17:20-21 again.
The
words “is come” is #2064, “a prin. Verb (used only in the present and imperfect tenses…):--accompany,
appear, bring, come, enter, be set…” So if the tense of this verb
is present and imperfect (continuous action from the past), then we cannot say it is something completed, or not yet occurred
and in the future, which is the teaching of most churches today.
If
you confess with your mouth the fact that HE WHO IS IN YOU is greater than the spirits of the worldly people, you are an OVERCOMER,
and no longer “little children”. You are a fully-grown adult, rightly
dividing the truth and in OBEDIENCE TO IT. You are drawn from the breast, and
no longer need milk, but rather meat. (Isa. 28:9). You are considered the “Ancient of days” in Daniel 7:9.
The word “ancient” is #6268 and means to be weaned, drawn from the breast.
Yahweh was never on milk!
I
John 4:17, 18, “Herein is our love made perfect (#5048 complete) that we may have boldness in the day[s]
of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love,
but PERFECT (#5046 FULL AGE Heb. 5:14 to make judgments) love casts out
fear…” By being full aged, matured adults, having the Spirit
of Yahshua living inside of us, we have the boldness to make judgments on any DAY as needed. (v. 17)
I
Cor 6:17, “But he that is joined (#2853) unto the Messiah is one spirit.”
#2853, kollao, to glue, i.e. (pass. or reflex.) to stick (fig.):-cleave, join (self), keep company.
Eph
5:30-32, “For we ARE members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave
his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Yahshua and the church.” The body of the Church is NOW His
wife. In Gen. 2:23 we know that Adam and Eve were one. “And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called wife
(#802), because she was taken out of man.”
Luke 24:39, “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself,
handle me, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see me have.”
Read I Cor. 12:12-27. The “body
of Yahshua” is those men and women who have the Holy Spirit, so it is a SPIRITUAL BODY, Yet is STILL flesh and bones. We are His wife. Verse 27 says, “NOW
you are the body (#4983, sound whole) of Yahshua, and members in particular.”
Verse 4
Acts 2:4, “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,
as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
#757 archo, a prim. Verb; to be first (in political rank or power):-reign [Rom. 15:12] (rule) over [Mark 10:42].
In
Mark 10, James and John asked Yahshua to grant to them that they may SIT, one on the right, the other on the left and in his
glory. (verse 37). Yahshua answered them in verse 40 with, “But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it
is prepared.” After the others heard about their request, they
got mad. Yahshua said to them, “You know that
they which are accounted to rule over (#757) the nations exercise lordship over them;
the great ones exercise authority…but so shall it not be among you;… whosoever is great…shall be minister;
whosoever will be chiefest, shall serve all…”
This story is also in Luke 22. It
was a conversation during Passover. Yahshua said in verses 28-30, “You are they which have continued with me in my temptations. I appoint
(make testator) unto you a Kingdom, as my Father has appointed unto me; that you may eat and
drink at my table in my Kingdom, and SIT on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” On the day of Pentecost the 12 were given their request. They
were doing ARCHO. Sitting in judgment of the 12 tribes of Israel as He said they
would do.
-
“…and began to speak with other tongues…” Speak is #2980, laleo; a prol.
form of an otherwise obsol. Verb: to talk, i.e. utter words:--preach (only in Mark 2:7; Act 8:25; 13:42; 16:6), say (Acts
3:22; 23:18), speak (Acts 4:29; 5:20, 40, etc; I Cor. 14:2) (after), talk (Rev. 21:15), tell (only in Acts 10:6; 11:14), utter
(II Cor. 12:4; Rev. 10:3, 4). Compare 3004.
-
“…other tongues…”,
#1100, glossa, the tongue; by impl. A language (spec. one naturally unacquired):--tongue.
In I Cor. 14:18 we can learn that a known language is meant by this word “glossa”.
Paul spoke more “glossa than the other brethren. In Acts 21:37 and
40 he spoke Greek and Hebrew. Acts 22:25 declares him a Roman where they speak
Italian and Latin. In Galatians 1:17 we know that he went to Arabia where they
speak Aramaic or the Saudi language.
-
“…as the Spirit gave them utterance.” #669,
apophtheggomai; from 575 and 5350; to enunciate plainly, i.e. declare:--say , speak forth, utterance (Only used here in Acts
2).
#5350, …to utter a clear sound, i.e. (gen.) to proclaim:--speak.
The
word “utterance” is also #3056 meaning “Logos” or the “WORD” of Yahweh.
It is also #1325, didomi, as in I Cor. 14:9: “utter by the tongue.”
Notice that the word “uttered” as found in Rev. 10:3 and 4 is “lalao” or “speak”. So from this we can see that #’s 669, 1325 and 5350 are synonyms in Greek.
I Cor. 14:19, 22 “Yet in the church, I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might teach others
also, than ten thousand words in a tongue(1100). (22) …Tongues are for a sign…to them that believe not…”
Because
there were several languages being spoken by those who had come to Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost, there was therefore
a necessity for Peter and the others to speak to them in their tongue of the wonderful works of Yahweh having sent His Son
to die and take away their sins. In Acts 2:41 there were about 3000 proselytes
(#4339 converts) added to those believing in the risen Messiah.
Last
days—2078 eschatos; a superl. prob. From 2192 (in the sense of contiguity); farthest, final (of place or time):--ends
of [Acts 13:47], last [I John 2:18], later end [II Pet. 2:20], lowest [Luke 14:9, 10], uttermost [Acts 1:8; 13:47]
#2192
echo; (used in certain tenses only); a prim. verb; to hold (used in very various applications, lit. or fig., direct or remote;
such as possession, ability, contiguity, relation or condition)…
Contiguity: Webster’s definition: Latin--The quality or state of being contiguous:
proximity. 1: being in actual contact: touching; 2: adjoining; 3: next or near in time or sequence.
Eschatology:
Webster’s definition: Greek--last, farthest: belief about or in the end
of the world or the last things (as the second coming of Christ, resurrection, Judgment, the new age).
Go
back and see Acts 2:2 for “sound” = echos = voice of words.
In
Acts 2:16, Peter is explaining the happenings of the day in fulfillment of Joel’s writings for the LAST DAYS. Acts 2 was therefore in the “last days”. Acts
2:16-18, “ But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days, says
Yahweh, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh…” In addition
there are prophecies, visions, dreams, wonders in heaven, signs in the earth, blood and fire, and vapor of smoke, some of
which Yahshua did according to Acts 2:22 before he died, or as things happening as He was dying.
The
“wonders in heaven” that were fulfilled on that day was also prophecied by Yahshua himself in Luke 21:25-28. You must realize though, that these “heavens” i.e. the sun, moon, stars
and clouds are all symbolic of people. Take the word “clouds” as
one example. If wicked people are “clouds without water” and wandering
(#4107 erratic teachers) stars, as in Jude 12-13, then Yahweh’s people are the clouds that give rain via their spoken
word. We also know that the descendants of Israel are as the stars in the heavens
(Gen. 22:17; 26:4; 37:9; Deut.1:10). Yahshua fulfilled Acts 1:11 already, because
we are his clouds. Luke 22:30 is a continuing fulfillment as we “eat of
His flesh” i.e. the meat of the Word, and as we “drink of His blood” which is the living waters that flow
unto eternal life.
There
is much to be said here about the symbolism of the words such as heaven, blood, fire and vapor of smoke, but that will have
to be for future writings. Suffice it to say that there are hundreds of parables
that are of a spiritual nature hidden within the Bible that most people take in the literal sense. This study in Acts is but one example. There is truly a “different”
version of the Bible yet to be opened up and written.
Ecclesiastes
8:1, “Who is as the wise? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man’s wisdom makes his face to shine, and the boldness (#5797,
strength, loud, power) of his face shall be changed (#8132 to alter).
In the Greek the word changed is #236, made different.
Psalm
110:2, Yahweh shall send the rod (#4294 tribes) of your (the Saints) strength (#5797) out of
Zion: rule in the midst of your enemies.” See Rev. 22:14, 15; Yahshua is that tree of life, that we have a right to through repentance and baptism,
and the wicked, sinful people are on the outside of the kingdom, or our walled city.
Our “walls” are our salvation as in Isaiah 26:1.
When
you learn the interpretation of Yahweh’s parables; yes, to really understand what our life is all about and what we
are supposed to be doing with our lives, we CHANGE from sinning. We repent of
our wicked ways. There is a conversion made; a change. We are baptized, given the Holy Spirit from Yahweh to teach us more and more truth as we continue to study
the Bible, until we grow up into the full stature of Messiah. Ephesians 4:13-5:14,
“Till we all come in the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of Yahweh, unto a perfect (#5046 complete,
of full age) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Yahshua…no more tossed to and fro…put
off …the old man (v. 22) (he is dead in the waters of baptism) …put on the new man (being raised from
the watery grave), which after, God (#2316 theos, …the godly, II Cor. 1:12; John 10:34,35) is created in righteousness
and true holiness (v. 24). …Awake (#1453 rouse, stand, rise
again…) you that sleep, arise from the dead, and Yahshua shall give you light. [We did not have light before
this rising from the dead?]
In
Rom. 13:11 Paul uses the same word “Awake” (#1453) “…it is high time to awake out of sleep…cast
off the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light…put on Yahshua the Messiah, and make no provision for the flesh,
to fulfill the lusts.” This is not something that Paul was telling
the people as an expectation some 2000 years off in their future. They were not
supposed to wait for Yahshua to wake them up from the dead after they turned to dust, rather, they are to wake up by ceasing
from sin, repent and be baptized, and put Him on, i.e. be clothed of Him. He
is our armor. Eph. 6:10-17, Yahshua is our strength. Through Him we have faith, love and salvation. See I Thess.
5:8.
Think
about this, if we are to wait for a resurrection from the dead in some futuristic time to receive our enlightenment, we would
not worry about the lusts of the flesh that Paul warns us about, because after all, we would be spirit beings, wouldn’t
we?? So when is this AWAKENING? On
the day of Pentecost, there were over 3000 people who woke up to the truth. They
cast off the works of darkness. If
the second death has no power over us, then there must be eternal life for the Saints, but the question is: in what form
do we live forever?
Romans
6:9-13, “Knowing that the Messiah being raised from the dead dies no more; death has no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once; but in that he lives, he lives unto Yahweh. Likewise RECKON you also YOURSELVES to be DEAD indeed unto sin,
but ALIVE unto Yahweh through Yahshua the Messiah our Savior… (v. 13) but yield yourselves unto Yahweh,
as THOSE that are ALIVE from the DEAD…” (v. 22, 23) “But now being made free from
sin, …you have your fruit…the end (#5056 result, continual) everlasting life.
For the wages of sin is death; but the (free) gift (#5486 Charisma) of Yahweh is eternal life through Yahshua the Messiah
our Savior.”
Romans
8:6, “For to be carnally minded (#4561, fleshly) is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity (#2189 Satan the adversary) against Yahweh;
for it is not subject to the law of Yahweh…But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit
of Yahweh (Yahshua) dwell in you…and if Yahshua (the Spirit) be in you, the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Yahshua from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Yahshua from the dead shall also quicken (#2227 make alive) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that
dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are not debtors (#3781 sinners)
to the flesh, to live after the flesh…if you live after the flesh, YOU SHALL DIE: but if you through the Spirit do mortify
(#2289 put to death, kill) the deeds of the body, you shall live.”
The second death has no power over you, which is when you literally stop breathing, and are put into the coffin for
burial. If you willingly sin, refuse to die to sin, you shall die, be put into
the grave and never see the light of day again. It is appointed for man once
to die. So choose your death!
Matthew
19:28, “And Yahshua said unto them (the apostles), Verily I say unto you, that you
which have followed me, in the regeneration (#3824, rebirth) when the Son of man shall
sit in the throne of his glory… (His throne is within us today as we make
righteous judgments) [you] shall inherit everlasting life.”
Titus 3:4-6, “But after (our disobedience serving sin v. 2, 3)
the kindness and love of our Savior toward man appeared (#2014 gave light), …according to his mercy he SAVED
US, by the washing (#3067 waters of baptism, and then the baptism of the Holy Spirit) of regeneration (Messianic restoration of the kingdom) and renewing (#342, restore, renovate) of the Holy (#40
see below) Spirit; which he shed on us abundantly through Yahshua…”
#40 hagios, an awful thing, sacred (phys. Pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated):--(most)holy
(one, thing), SAINT.
Yes,
we are renovated, renewed, CHANGED, and restored to the Kingdom!! These are all
synonyms meaning the same thing, just as there are synonyms in the Greek as we have been studying.
I
John 2:28-29, “And now, little children (#5040,
infant, converts to Christ), abide in him; that, when he shall appear (#5319
rendered apparent, manifest [in our bodies] see I Peter 5:4), we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his
coming (#3952, being near, advent, presence). If you know that he is righteous,
you know that every one that does righteousness is born of him (#1080, regenerated, brought forth).
II Cor 4:10-11, “Always
bearing about in the body the dying of the Master Yahshua, that the life also of Yahshua might be made manifest (#5319 same as “shall appear” in I John 2 above) in our body…in our mortal flesh.” Verse 20, “Now then we are ambassadors
for Yahshua, as though Yahweh did beseech you by us; we pray IN YAHSHUA’S STEAD, be reconciled to Yahweh.”
In looking up the word “ambassadors”
I find something very interesting. It is #4243 presbeuo; from the base of #4245;
to be a senior…(fig. preacher…MEMBER OF THE CELESTIAL COUNCIL:--elder, old.
John
14:16, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER (#243 allos,
different…:-more….) Comforter, that
he may abide with you forever; the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows
him; but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be IN YOU. I will not
leave you comfortless; I WILL COME TO YOU.”
The
word “another” in John 14:16 means “different or more”, but we want to go to its root word
which is #236 allaso from 243; to make different:--CHANGE. As we have seen, sometimes
there are two Greek words combined to give us one Greek word. We can find this
#236 as part of the word katallasso, #2644, to change mutually, i.e. (fig.) to compound a difference:--reconcile. Kata means “down”.
The
word “reconcile” is only found in one verse of the Bible. By letting
this verse explain the meaning of CHANGE, we can better understand what Yahweh is saying, not what man has dreamed up on his
own imagination.
II
Cor. 5:17-20, Therefore if any man be in Yahshua, he is a new creature (#2937 building) old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new (Rev. 21:1). And all things are of Yahweh
who has RECONCILED (#2644) us to himself by Yahshua the Messiah,
and has given to us the ministry of RECONCILIATION (#2643); To wit, that Yahweh was in Yahshua, RECONCILING
(#2644) the world (#2889 adorning) unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed
unto us the word of RECONCILIATION (#2643) Now then we are ambassadors
for Yahshua, as though Yahweh did beseech (#3870, call for you, pray) by us; we pray in Yahshua’s stead, be RECONCILED
(#2644) to Yahweh.”
We
are here in place of Yahshua, or rather combined with him reconciling the called out ones to himself. Causing a CHANGE in them, by the WORDS of Yahweh.
The
word “WORLD” is not what we think it to be. It is #2889 kosmos; prob.
From the base of #2865; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by impl. The world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its
inhab., lit. or fig. [morally]:--adorning. We find the word ADORNING in I Peter
3:3-4 which says, “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, of wearing of
gold, or of putting on of apparel, but let it be the hidden man of the heart, that which is not corruptible, the ornament
of a meek and quiet spirit…” This is referring to the spiritual
wife of Christ. The Church is the Bride.
#2865
komizo; to tend, i.e. take care of; to provide for, i.e. (by impl.) to carry off (as if from harm; gen. obtain):--bring, receive.
This
word “CHANGE” or the past tense “changed” is found in I Cor. 15:51-52.
“Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep [keep sinning, be children of the night], but
we shall all be CHANGED, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead (#3498 see Rom. 7:9; I Pet 1:23) shall be raised incorruptible (#862) and we shall be CHANGED
(#236). For this corruptible must put on incorruption, this mortal must put
on immortality.”
Those
of us in this world who have a meek and quiet spirit, have an INCORRUPTIBLE man of the heart, because we have been clothed
upon, joined bodily with Yahshua; CHANGED, RECONCILED.
We
also find the word “ADORNED” (#2885) in Rev. 21:2, 3 as John was shown the bride of Yahshua. “And I John saw the holy (#40 saints) city, new Jerusalem, coming down from Yahweh out of heaven
(#3772), prepared as a bride adorned for her husband, and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, behold, the tabernacle
of Yahweh is with [within] men, and he will dwell with [within] them, and they shall be his people, and Yahweh himself shall
be with them, and be their god.” This is also a fulfillment of Zechariah
8:8-12.
This
ADORNING is what the 10 virgins had in Matthew 25. #2885 kosmeo; from #2889 to
put in proper order, i.e. decorate (lit. or fig.); spec to snuff (a wick):-adorn, garnish, trim. However, there were half who apparently made an outward show of wearing gold, fine clothing and had good
speech, but were not practicing what they preached, while the other half actually did feed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty,
clothed the naked and visited the sick and in prison. These are more than just
physical gestures, they are of a spiritual nature. Isaiah tells us what this
sickness is, and it is our JOB to heal this sickness.
Isaiah
1:2-7, “Hear O heavens and give ear O earth; for Yahweh has spoken, “I have nourished and brought up children,
and they have rebelled against me…Israel does not know, my people do not consider.
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers…gone away backward…THE WHOLE HEAD IS
SICK, AND THE WHOLE HEART IS FAINT. From the sole of the foot even unto the head
there is no soundness in it; but wounds, bruises, putrefying sores (Luke 16:20) they have not been closed, bound up
or mollified with ointment (oil).”
The
Israelite seed of Abraham shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the people; all that see them shall
acknowledge them, that they are the seed which Yahweh has blessed (Isaiah 61:9). We
are to give of our OIL to those in need, i.e. the sick, the hungry for the Words of truth, those that thirst after living
waters, and those in need of being clothed upon from on high with the Holy Spirit. However,
we do not give that which is holy to dogs, or cast our pearls before the swine (Matt. 7:6).
Isaiah
61:10, “I will greatly rejoice in Yahshua, my soul shall be joyful in my Elohim; for he has clothed me with the garments
of salvation, he has covered me with the robe (see Isa. 59:17) of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels…so Yahweh will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all
the nations.”
Isaiah 59:16, “he saw that there was no worthy man,…no intercessor; therefore
his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. For
he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance
for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak. According to their deeds, accordingly
he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies…so shall they fear the name of Yahweh.”
I
Thessalonians 5:8, “…let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith, and love; and
for a helmet, the hope of salvation, for Yahweh has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by Yahshua the Messiah.”
Blessed
are you that do His commandments, for in doing so, you have right to the tree of life who is Yahshua the Messiah and thus
enter without sin through the gates into the Holy City, and actually be a living stone in the new Jerusalem (I Peter 2:5). By doing His commandments, bringing forth fruits fitting for the kingdom, spreading
the kingdom message, letting your light shine abroad—all of this is deserving of eternal life.
I
Peter 2:5, “You also (along with Yahshua), as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Yahweh by Yahshua the Messiah.”
See also Malachi 3:17.
Revelation
21:19, “And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones…” The word garnished is #2885 which we looked at earlier and is found in Matthew 25:7. “then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps…”
The
walls of our City are great and high. Isaiah 26:1 and 60:18 tell us the symbolism
of our wall, and also instructs us as to the song we are to sing, that only the saints can know.
Isaiah
26:1, “In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We
have a strong city, SALVATION will Yahweh appoint for walls and bulwarks (#2426 army, wealth, valor, strength). Open you the gates (praise), that the righteous nations, which keep the truth,
may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you;
because he trusts in you. Trust you in Yah forever: for in Yahweh is everlasting
strength…”
We
were ‘ENABLED’ on the day of PENTECOST with power, strength and ability to overcome all; to be the Bride of Yahshua,
to dine with him at His table. Come and enter into the gates with praise and
singing.
Revelation
22:17, “And the Spirit and the bride say Come, and let him that hears say Come. Let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him
take the water of life freely.” This water of life flows from
the Saints (John 4:14; 7:38) through belief and obedience in Yahshua.
John
4:14, “But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the
water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 7:38, “He that believes on me, as the
Scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
Rev. 22:1, “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeding out of the throne of Yahweh and of the lambs” (#721).
If
we can say “yes, we LOVE You” as Peter said in John 21:15, “Yes master, you know that I love you”,
then we should be doing as Yahshua then said, “FEED MY LAMBS” (#721).
The spirits of the bride say “COME” repent and be baptized
for the kingdom of Yahweh is at hand!
Come! Sing this song with me. It
is the song that only the Saints can learn. Let us
learn it together.
